It is commonly used in construction projects where concrete needs to be transported to a location not directly accessible by the concrete truck, or where precision placement is required such as during a block fill operation.

What types of projects are suitable for concrete pump trailers?

Concrete pump trailers are versatile and can be used for a wide range of projects, including residential foundations, large commercial buildings, infrastructure projects like bridges and tunnels, backyard pools, driveways, block fill, footers, and slabs.

Can a concrete pump trailer handle all types of concrete?

Our pumps are capable of handling a variety of concrete mixes, including those with different aggregates and admixtures. However, it’s important to discuss the specifics of your concrete mix with us in advance to ensure compatibility and optimal pumping performance.

How do I prepare my site for concrete pumping?

To prepare your site for concrete pumping, ensure that the area is clear of debris, obstructions, and any utilities that could be affected. Mark the exact location where the concrete is to be poured and provide clear access for the pump trailer and delivery trucks. It is highly recommended to have a project manager onsite to prep the site and resolve any questions, as getting the mixed concrete placed before it begins to set up is critical.

What are the capacities of your concrete pump trailer?

CPS uses a top of the line Schwing 750-18 pump trailer. The trailer can pump up to maximums of 1,160 feet horizontally and 330 feet vertically. The aggregate component of the most common project applications is under an inch, though our trailer can handle aggregates of up to 1.5 inches in the concrete mix. Throughput is rated for 70 cubic feet per hour, or 2.3 million pounds in an 8 hour work day, which goes a long way to preventing injury compared to moving that much with wheel barrows!

What are the requirements for setting up a concrete pump trailer on-site?

Setting up a concrete pump trailer requires a stable, level surface capable of supporting the weight of the pump and the concrete. Adequate space for the truck mixer to deliver the concrete to the pump is also necessary. The site should be accessible via a road that can accommodate heavy vehicles, as a fully loaded concrete truck can weigh as much as 66,000 pounds. Luckily we can place concrete up to 1,160 feet from the truck horizontally which is almost ¼ mile.
